Department Overview

In Storage & Availability Management Group, you will have the opportunity to ensure that the world's mission critical IT infrastructure and largest data centers are successfully managed using storage and availability solutions from Symantec. This group drives innovation on storage and server management, data protection, and application performance management solutions across heterogeneous storage and server platforms. Key products in the Storage and Availability Management Group include Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas Command Central Storage and Veritas Cluster Server product lines.

Responsibilities

• This candidate will cooperate with local/global internal team members, global product teams, Quality Assurance teams, and product managers to involve into task analysis, feature implementation, product maintenance and the final delivery of the commitments on schedule.
• This candidate will be focusing on the script development and maintenance in installation, configuration and upgrading for Symantec Cluster Server, Storage Foundation and other products under one or all of AIX, Solaris, Linux and HP-UX platforms.
• He/She will make sure that the delivered work is well tested and make sure to deliver with high quality. He/she will obey the current process to design, develop, review for commitment and deliver on time.
• The candidate also needs to join in the lifecycle of software process, do design review, code reviews, documentation review on product logic flow, and also be responsible to improve test process in test automation development if required.

Qualifications

• Should have proficient knowledge in Perl language and UNIX shell programming; strong experience in development under one or multi UNIX platforms (AIX/Solaris/Linux/HP-UX).
• Have strong understanding on one or more of Linux/Solaris/HP-UX/AIX platforms.
• Must be action oriented, should have the capability to take challenging tasks with innovative solutions.
• Should have the capability to take actions under high pressure and deliver the commitments on time with high enthusiasm.
• Have skilled communication on both oral/hearing/handwriting in English/Chinese.
• Bachelor or higher degree is required, M. S degree is a plus.
• Storage experience is a plus.
• Experience with Oracle, DB2, Sybase DBA are definite pluses.
