Job Purpose Statement
Pre-hospital Opening Stage:
To function as the local representatives of the Gleneagles Management Services - Medical Equipment Planning (GMS-MEP) at project site during the Pre- Hospital Opening stage. (refer to attachment)
Post Hospital Opening Stage:
1.To lead a team of biomedical engineers
2.To lead the team in performing plan preventive maintenance / inspections, calibration, commissioning, evaluation and repair maintenance on Biomedical Equipment.
3.To work closely with all other project consultants, contractors, departments and contract service providers to ensure the proper tender evaluation, equipment delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, repair and maintenance of equipment for safe and efficient operations
Key Results Areas
Pre-hospital Opening Stage:
To function as the local representatives of the GMS-MEP at project site during the Pre- Hospital Opening Stage. (refer to attachment)
Post Hospital Opening Stage:
1.To maintain good working relationship with all other project consultants and departments.
2.To ensure proper repair and maintenance done by contract service providers
3.To supervise and monitor parts orders generated by the department.
4.To assist in developing relevant policies, procedures, work instruction and standards.
5.JCI and QA procedures.
6.Manage department budget, manpower requirements and expenses.
7.To provide monthly and status reports.
8.Staff strength, competency initiate training and retraining.
9.Staff’s performance
10.Ensure smooth operation of the department.
11.Ensure the safe and efficient operations of the medical equipment in the Hospital.
12.Ensure that relevant policies, procedures, work instruction and standards are created for the department.
13.Implementation and enforce of all establish standards.
14.Generate of monthly report and status report on timeline.
15.Conduct staff appraisal and initiate necessary actions.
16.Advise biomedical engineering solution to internal customer.
17.Schedule of monthly Planned Preventive Maintenance.
18.Cost saving in Service Contract
Key Performance Indicators
1.Maintain the department’s completion rate of scheduled PM jobs within a month.
2.Maintain the department’s completion rate of scheduled R&M jobs
3.(Spare parts does not require) within a month.
4.Meet the target for completion of commissioning jobs within two weeks.
5.To manage the department’s Profit and Loss within budget.
6.Meet the department’s technical training target
Job Requirements
Professional Qualifications
A degree from a recognized university / institution; preferably with biomedical engineering knowledge and minimum 5 years related working experience in hospital operation and/or hospital project management.
Skills & Knowledge
1.Ability to read and understand schematics, technical & basic clinical literature relevant to the electro medical.
2.Good communication skills.
3.Ability to guide new and junior staff on trouble shooting and engineering procedures.
4.Leadership and management skills
5.Creative and initiative skills
6.Good command of English
Competency
Management skills: To be able to generate monthly and status reports and to meet business objective, KPI.
Biomedical Engineering skills: A good understanding of the medical equipment and its standards.
Leadership Skill: Ability to show good leadership and lead by example.
Communication skills: Able to communicate well with inter-department and staffs.
Read and understand schematics: Good understanding of the electronics schematics diagrams.
