Position Description: ARM MCU Senior Software Engineer

Purpose:

The primary objective of this role is to develop device drivers, software examples, middleware, and tools for the ARM-based Microcontrollers product line.

Key responsibilities/duties:

1. Develop software examples for the peripherals of the ARM MCU products.

2. Develop development tools and programming tools for the ARM MCU products.

3. Develop middleware frameworks for ARM MCU products and their complicate peripherals/functions such as USB, Ethernet, MCI, User Interface, Touch Screen, etc.

4. Write application notes or technical articles.

5. Participate in customer support of software solutions.

6. Heavily involve in application level software design and development for various reference designs.

7. Involve in embedded RTOS porting and corresponding 3rd party coordination.

ARM MCU Software Manager

Key relationships / interfaces:

Internal - Software team in France, local teams in Shanghai, support teams

External - Partners, design houses, customers

Requirements (indicate "must" or "preferred")

Key skills & knowledge (technical):

1. Must communicate fluently in English, either by reading, writing or speaking.

2. Must have a proven experience in development in C on embedded systems based on microcontrollers, assembler is an add-on.

3. Must have knowledge of one or more communication protocols.

4. Must have a proven experience in development tools operations (compiler, debugger, In-Circuit Emulator).

5. Must have a proven experience in software development flow (version control, bug tracking, software delivery, coding standard...). Software Development Project Management experience is a plus.

6. Preferred knowledge in metrology, smart meter related standards, specifications, AMR, AMI, Smart Grid, and direct experience in smart meter designs.

7. Preferred to have a proven experience in designing drivers for several kinds of peripherals under RTOS, such as uCOS-II, eCOS, etc.

8. Preferred experience in middleware development.

9. Preferred capability to work in an international environment.

10. Preferred working experience in ARM based systems.

Language skills:

o English fluent - conversation, reading and writing.

Relevant Experience:

Minimum 6-year experience for bachelor and 3-year experience for master in embedded systems software development.

Experience of writing English technical documents.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree above in Computer Science, with embedded system option; Master Degree strongly preferred.
