Situation

Physical presence at supplier factories in Zhongshan (中山), Dong guan (东莞) or other Guangdong cities to monitor product & process quality to improve Total Customer Experience and ensure HP PC products meet quality and delivery expectations.

Job Description

– Factory quality “champion” (ensure product/processes conform to spec)

- Create/instill a “customer perspective of quality” in the factory

- Perform regular process audits and ensure key quality control processes conform to HP specification

- Ensure incoming material management processes/methods meet HP quality standards and expectations

- Work with ODM Quality Management System to drive systematic improvements and metric accountability

– Serve as a technical expert/resource (product/process)

- Serve as a technical resource for interpreting HP quality expectations/standards

- Facilitate real-time product hold decision making to prevent/reduce defective product from leaving the factory

- Understand and educate the ODM on why certain processes are specified the way they are

– Serve as an interface to HP/ODM owners to drive FA/CA/PA

- Ensure quality issues in the factory are being owned and acted upon appropriately

- Facilitate resolution of technical issues when multiple ODM partners are involved

– Focal point for field/factory failure correlation

- Ensure failure analysis is carried out quickly and thoroughly on all Functional Audit failures, drive corrective action as necessary

- Correlate Functional Audit results with initial field quality (F-DEFOA) and drive appropriate action

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required

- BS or MS in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, engineering or equivalence.

- At least 5 years of experience in design, manufacturing, quality or procurement engineering

- Experience in manufacturing and quality processes on PCA, Mechanical Assembly, Product Testing for PC products and commodities.

- Project management, supplier management and problem solving skills. Aggressive and result oriented to drive business results.

- Good communication and reporting skills.

- Good command of English and Chinese.
