As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for selling Cat Logistics worldwide to meet client needs and achieve established profitability objectives. Additional responsibilities may include (but are not limited to:
Providing leased warehouse space, labor, management, machinery and equipment to perform warehouse services as well as inspecting products received from suppliers and picking customer orders for shipment. Transportation services include the selection and negotiation of rates with carriers, preparation of import/export documentation, auditing freight bills and expediting shipments. Cat Logistics systems services provides logistics information systems software and data center resources including CPU, data storage and telecommunications management;
Developing comprehensive logistics strategies for client's domestic and international markets and presents services proposals to satisfy client needs. Selling a complex intangible service to the client which could result in reorganization, downsizing, layoffs, etc;
Providing leadership in the development of operational analysis and plans, financial analysis of proposal and commercial terms which include developing costs and pricing the logistics services package. Negotiating contract terms with the client that provide an adequate profit to the company;
Guiding project teams consisting of up to twenty or more functional experts from the Cat Logistics organization and client organization in implementing multi-faceted projects both domestic and international. Implementing facilities in several countries, developing and executing an international transportation strategy and executing a logistics information systems strategy and a global communications network. Insuring client expectations are met during initial start-up and execution of services, account cost, revenue and profitability targets are achieved. Directly supervising a staff of three or more marketing and functional experts.
This position requires:
College degree in a business related field or equivalent;
Considerable experience in Operations, Inventory Control, Parts Accounting, Dealer/Distributor Parts Operations and Marketing;
Knowledge of company policies and procedures along with good communications and human relations skills; and,
Previous experience in the entry level Account Manager position.
