About the role

As a Business Analyst, you will look after business engagement and functional business requirements. In this role, you will engage relevant business stakeholders for approved initiatives and will work closely with the delivery teams as well as relevant Technology partners and will ensure the timely completion of and the quality in the delivery of requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to have excellent Business Analyst ability along with the ability to own small to medium initiatives. You will develop requirements that are fit-for-purpose, accurate, and display an understanding of the financial implications to the program. You will then manage the requirements throughout the lifecycle of the initiatives. You will likewise monitor and control progress at a project level and provide regular status reports. You will also identify, monitor and manage project risks, issues and dependencies, and will suggest appropriate risk responses. This role will report into the Lead Business Analyst in the respective program and will focus on Business Solutions and Business Process streams. This role will build and maintain effective relationships with customers, colleagues, senior managers, group and other key stakeholder and will work towards anticipating and responding to evolving customer needs. About you

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following –

· Fluency in English and in Mandarin

· Proven years of experience in a Business Analyst role and within a Middle Office or Operations environment (ideally in a “Change the Business” or in Back Office function)

· Domain knowledge of Banking Operations (e.g. Confirmations, Settlements, Reconciliations) and Middle Office functions (e.g. Transaction Management, On-boarding)

· Solid understanding of project management lifecycles, disciplines, and procedures

· Knowledge of business analysis tasks, experience in elicitation techniques and competent in requirements gathering skills

· Good documentation skills (including documentation in functional requirements, test plans and packs, process maps, training material, and communications)

· Prior experience in working in mid to large-sized projects

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with senior management

· Ability to own and be responsible for deliveries assigned

· Ability to understand and analyse complex issues and propose appropriate solutions
