Role Definition

The Project Manger leads and manages IT projects. This role coordinates, supports, and assists all aspects of a project from original concept through the final implementation, ensuring governance process adherence, project continuity, and stakeholder management. The Project Manager develops project budgets and is responsible for performance against financial parameters and monitoring and reporting on projects.


The Project Manager oversees the work of project based resources and assists with the performance review.


Primary Responsibilities

· Manage all aspects of IT projects, including monitoring scope, milestones, dependencies, costs, and benefits through lifecycle

· Develop project budgets and maintain forecasts

· Responsible for performance against financial parameters and monitoring and reporting on projects.

· Create project artifacts, such as project plans, measures, team and stakeholder communications, resource and time management

· Identify and acquire project resources

· Ensure that requirements are understood and prioritized

· Ensure that deliverables meet the agreed requirements

· Manage project change requests

· Manage the work of project-based resources and the day-to-day interactions with suppliers.

· Provide guidance for team members and review overall progress

· Provide critical feedback to the individual members and/or the team member's manager when necessary

· Assists with the performance reviews for project-based resources

· Ensures projects follow all company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards

· Identify and highlight risks and issues within the project and escalate appropriately

· Devise effective mitigation and escalation strategies for projects to address risks and issues

· Lead regular project reviews with project sponsors and stakeholders

· Propose governance structures and processes to drive and manage the project

· Support the implementation of project management methodology and governance tools

· Drive projects through project governance methodology and ensure compliance to tollgates



Key Skills / Qualifications / Knowledge


The successful candidate for this role will have the following experience and expertise:

· Experience with planning and managing all phases of system development (e.g., requirements gathering, design, configuration, development, COTS selection, testing, conversion and application support)

· 5+ years experience leading midsized-large projects

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook)

· Proven project management skills

· Experience with waterfall SDLC techniques

· Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities within a shared services organization model

· Understanding of organizational change and leadership principles

· Experience managing PeopleSoft ERP (Financials) a must

· Strong understanding of SDLC-software development lifecycle

· Experience: Candidates will have a minimum of 6 years successful work experience as a Project Manager within a web application, and/or software development consulting company. Proven success-managing projects using a project management methodology applied throughout a projects lifecycle specifically PeopleSoft related projects

· Knowledge: Proven experience with Internet, e-commerce, and enterprise software solutions such as PeopleSoft and trends. Candidate must possess a thorough understanding of both front-end and back-end design and development

· Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree in MIS, CS, Business or related studies. PMI certifications or equivalent helpful but not required

· Bi-lingual (English and Mandarin) required
