I. Mission
The Purchasing Engineer reports to the Head of MAC China MPS Procurement

II. Tasks description
？ Purchasing activities related to pricing, procurement and delivery of equipment, materials and services including: preparing of tender packages, bid evaluation, and negotiation, preparation of purchase requisitions necessary for formal purchase order preparation.

？ Project procurement activities in collaboration with category sourcing people and according to the defined sourcing process related to local vendor selection, equipment purchasing, monitor manufacturing and delivery schedule, problem solving during PO execution. Coordinate with relavant department to do equipment verification at supplier site as required, follow up and control quality assurance. Personally participates in such activities as required to assure PO successful completion.

? Follow up with Vendors on PO execution. Manage/resolve operational issues (delivery and quality) to ensure orders are delivered on time and to specifications. Monitor scheduling, coordinate with relevant department for quality control. Report to project managers and help them solving problems.

? Monitor suppliers’ performance on an on-going basis. Analyze the performance of each vendor. Update the qualified vendor list on regular basis.

? Develop strong network of Metso project suppliers and establish trusted working relationship.

? Collect data/info on raw materials, new regulations on import/export taxes, provide necessary guidelines/reference info/data to Project Team and other Business Lines.

? Assist logistics, import/export formalities

? Provide assistance to project managers on project issues as required

Location: Metso Shanghai Office.

IV. Qualifications
? Academic background: Engineering degree, preferably working in Heavy Machinery Industry
? A recognized qualification procurement would be considered an asset
? Experience: Minimum 5 years of related procurement experience or related experience
? Preferable knowledge of mining products
? Good business sense and communication skills
? Team work spirit is a must
? Willing to travel, work hard
? Ready to learn and willing to take more responsibilities
? International experience is an advantage
? Knowledge of SAPs/ERP systems is an advantage
? Language skills: Proficiency in Chinese and English essential.
? PC skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint
? SAP knowledge is must.
