职位描述

1. Win new customers and implement agreed business development strategies for Metallurgy & Steel Degassing, in line with objectives set by the Sales Management team.
2. Coordinate sales activity in these sectors working in conjunction with the Regional Business Managers.
3. Identify opportunities to grow vacuum turnover through new market and product opportunities.
Accountability: GV Industrial products into the specified applications.
4 Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:
4.1 Relevant material science or engineering degree. Qualifications in, or a working knowledge of marketing and business administration of metallurgy market. Steel degassing knowledge would be very helpful.
4.2 Around 5 years minimum experience in a relevant industry with at least 2 years sales/marketing experience in a relevant product or market sector. Sufficient product and market experience could be gained in a technical role held over an equivalent period but the jobholder would also have had to demonstrate commercial acumen.
4.3 A knowledge of vacuum applications and of relevant vacuum technology and products.
4.4 Demonstrable commercial experience and awareness.
4.5 Experience in influencing, negotiating and presentation skills, occasionally practised at senior levels, both inside and outside the company.
4.6 Ability to work within a team of regional product or market specialists

5 Principle Accountabilities:
5.1 Grow sales objectives for the products under control to achieve profitability and growth over the business cycle in line with the company's strategic plans.
5.2 Generate up-to-date awareness on all aspects of the markets for the products, including main customers for the products and their applications, competitor companies, their products and activities, market shares and growth rates, etc. Disseminate this information and instigate changes to optimise Edward's position in a timely and flexible manner.
5.3 Working with the Sales, Regional, and Business Manager, set, and increase metallurgy market objectives, with particular reference to:
a) Development of targeted market position, growth and share.
b) Gross profitability.
c) Return on investment (including asset use optimisation).
d) Product pricing (including discounting policies).
e) Spares, service and product support policies (with service).
5.4 Identify clarify and communicate new areas of opportunity for existing products and market development of new products introduced into the range.

5.5 Liaise closely with the business and marketing manager, production and technical departments to ensure that any feedback from the market on operational problems is understood and acted upon in a timely manner.
5.6 Review and report on the annual sales volume/revenue gross profit budgets, quarterly re-forecasts and for the products in territories.

6 Nature and Scope:
The jobholder has accountability for the successful performance of the products and thus there is a large degree of co-ordination of the different departments within BOCE involved in the job. This co-ordinating activity involves:
a) The ability to identify clearly potential and existing problems and to define effective solutions.
b) The ability to appreciate financial, technical, operational and commercial considerations.
c) The ability to implement actions by influencing personnel working within other departments of Edwards, including senior management in all group companies and distributors.
The jobholder must be able to communicate with and influence senior personnel within the metallurgy industry, and must also be able to communicate with and influence senior personnel at customers for the products. Externally, the jobholder will be considered to present the face of Edwards, and must also be considered "expert" in his field.
