Job Description
Report: : General Manager
Location: : Taicang
Logistics & Materials manager, reporting to General Manager, is a key leadership
position managing production planning, material requisition planning, procurement,
inventory, SAP knowledge, import and export, through the collaboration with
production manager, sourcing manager and customer operation team, to ensure on
time deliveries and maximize inventory turns.
? Develop knowledge management database to capture production / supply chain
related SAP processes, and leverage SAP to enable fast response to fluctuated
customer demands.
? Manage “Sales and Operation” process to prepare production and material
requirement plan, in alignment with production capacity plan, to ensure on time
deliveries.
? Establish and maintain standard operation process for all logistic operations.
? Logistic standard operation process must comply to local regulations, applicable
safety standards, company Medical quality system requirements and policies.
? Establish annual budget and ensure compliance to the approved budget.
? Establish guideline to develop material requisition plan, outlining principles to
manage material management processes, such as Kanban, Min/Max, safety stock,
…, to clearly define plan for each part.
? Establish analysis tools and weekly reports to update management team of
inventory status, deviations and outline potential issues.
? Manage daily procurement activities.
? Establish inventory reduction plan to meet global inventory goals.
? Manage import and export team to ensure on time custom clearance, and ensure
compliance to global logistic policy, guideline, procedures and regulations.
? Establish compliant process to manage hazard goods, such as product equipped
with lithe ion batteries.
? Maximize logistic efficiency, in terms of cost and speed, for site operations.
? Examine compliance and liability of exposures to local transportation mode.
? Manage in-house material movement and storage, to minimize material
movement and maximize space efficiency, in alignment with production needs
and FIFO disciplines.
? Manage contracted warehouse space as needed.
? Drive all safety measures to ensure zero injuries.
? Assist general manager to drive overall efficiency improvements in site operation.
Requirements
? 10+ years of experience within operations, logistics, or supply chain in highly
disciplined manufacturing environment, such as FIFO, build-to-order, late point
configuration and lean operation. Experience in medical device production is
preferred.
? Demonstrated leadership skill to drive changes in organizational structure and
culture.
? Demonstrated experience in people management.
? Demonstrated management experience in planning, assessing, and implementing
changes. Hand on experience in production management is preferred.
? Demonstrated experience in applying CI / lean tools to drive performance.
? Strong communication and customer relationship skills, and the ability to balance
operation business requirement with external customer needs.
? Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to interact with other functional
groups, employees and outside vendors.
? Hand on experience in order fulfillment management and ERP system.
Experience in SAP is preferred.
? Knowledge of import / export requirements and regulations in China.
? Fluent in English and Mandarin.
