APAC Public Relations Specialist
Location: Shanghai
Term: 1 year contract (with possibility of converting into permanent role)
Department Description: Zebra’s External Communications team is responsible for protecting and enhancing Zebra’s corporate reputation, with a special focus on business, channel and technology topics through relations with external key audiences, such as the media. This position is part of the Public Relations team and reports to the PR lead in APAC.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations: Provide professional support and counsel to business sector staff, the Country Manager and third parties. The PR specialist has specific responsibility for coordinating media and public relations of regional relevance for Zebra in APAC.
Develop thought leadership content to strengthen Zebra’s external reputation by effectively communicating the company’s position in IoT, enterprise asset intelligence, Auto-ID, mobile solutions, and printing domains supporting the company’s long-term objectives for high performance and profitable growth.
Partner and manage in-market agencies for local PR support in assigned countries. Monitor agencies deliverables and performance against goals.
Provide professional support and counsel to the sales team, as agreed with the PR APAC lead.
Contribute to determine the activities needed to establish a best-in-class PR plan for Zebra’s solutions-based business across APAC, contribute to define plans to establish that programme, together with the quantitative measurements used to identify progress.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
? University degree, ideally in communications or journalism
? 4-6 years’ experience within Public Relations or Communications in an international company, PR agency, or extensive journalism experience
? Experience in agency management and managing multiple projects simultaneously
? Fluent in English and Mandarin, spoken and written essential
? Other Asian language proficiency would be advantageous
? Strong content development skills in crafting press releases, feature articles, and blogs
? Excellent communications skills, including presentations
? Ability to influence, lead and deliver within complex environments and organizations
? Achieve agreement on funding, oversee executions and deliver through partnerships
? Must be conversant with media
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Sharepoint
? Candidates can expect to undergo a writing and language test
