Position: Senior Linux Technical Support Engineer

Location: Beijing

Overview:
Wind River Systems in Beijing has a great opportunity for a Senior Technical Support Engineer. The candidate we are seeking is an excellent communicator both written and verbal in English, with a strong desire and ability to work with the customer to resolve their technical problems by troubleshooting and debugging Linux problems in a real-time embedded environment.

Responsibilities:
Based on reports from developers using Wind River Linux and related products, the engineer will identify and correct or provide workarounds for defects in Linux kernel, BSP, file system, design and write programs that test functionality and demonstrate the proper implementation
Communicate effectively with customers (developers) to resolve their problems
Communicate effectively with account teams on customer issues
Document customer issues and resolutions accurately and thoroughly
Develop technical content, articles and demonstration code for online support site
Participate in support process improvement activities

Qualifications:
At least 7 years of customer support experience
At least 2 years programming experience with C/C++ or experience debugging C/C++ applications
Strong communication and customer service skills (written and verbal) in English
Strong troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of Linux kernel, BSP, driver, file system, embedded processor architecture, such as PPC, IA, MIPS, ARM, etc.
Self-motivated, independent and comfortable working directly with technical customers
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related major

Preference:
Experience working with an integrated development environment (IDE), Workbench is plus
Experience with embedded systems
Experience working with TCP/IP
Experience working with Gnu compiler
Experience working with multicore is plus
