Position Title: VPT_ Cost Engineer (Expert Position-Stamping)
Your main responsibility will be to calculate part prices and tooling investments, both in new engine projects and as a support to today's Powertrain business. You will perform cost target setting and cost breakdowns of new and existing parts based on drawings or physical parts.
You will start early in the concept selection phase, working intimately with engineering and design. You will follow the products thru the development phases and then actively support the targets you have set in the sourcing process.
Another part of Cost Engineering work is to support the change management process, calculating impact in tooling and product cost.
In this work it's important to cooperate with many different parts of our organization such as buyers, engineers, project leaders, managers and of course your colleagues within the Global Value Management department.
The main tasks of this position are to
Perform cost breakdown analyses
Cost Estimating
Optimize the choice of technology, materials and manufacturing process. (Design-to-cost)
Target Cost setting for tooling and parts
Support buyers in technical negotiation with suppliers
Audit tool makers and suppliers to create benchmark
Be a senior adviser within your manufacturing process
Main Competencies
The successful applicant is expected to have a strong industrial background in the following process
Stamping
We are looking for an expert in the above process to join the global team, where he/she will contribute that expertise to all sites.
Experience Required
University degree in engineering or equivalent due to experience.
8-10 years experience in manufacturing OR process engineer OR cost controller in Supplier Company
Have a good knowledge of tool makers/ fixture builders all over the world with Asia focus
Fluent in English
Knowledge of Mandarin or Japanese a plus
