Position Title: VPT_ Buyer (19505BR)
Buyer for Volvo Powertrain in China & Japan: Engine Combustion components
Key responsibilities
? Responsible for a purchasing portfolio of components
? Support product development and product modifications in the portfolio
? Perform the activities required for the portfolio: negotiations, optimize the total cost (Quality, logistics, manufacturing, etc.), purchasing requisitions, tooling investment files
? Search for opportunities to improve the items cost and take action to implement them.
? Contribute to global strategies (knowledge about the global supplier market) and action plans.
? Contribute to the achievement of the global KPI's by implementing strategies and cost saving activities.
? Manage the working relationships with suppliers: solve quality, delivery, cost problems, participate in SEM evaluations
? Update the files and purchasing database for his/her portfolio.
? Supplier Host responsibilities as assigned by Commodity Director
? Work in accordance with the Powertrain processes, the Volvo Way, and the Powertrain values and behaviors.
Main Competencies
? Minimum 3 years' experience in automotive
? At least 3 years relevant purchasing/ SQD/ or project working experience in automotive in industry
? Willing to travel ( domestic & international )
Minimum Education & Experience Required
? Bachelor degree in Business and/or Mechanical degree, Auto Engineering plus. Chinese and English language skills compulsory
? Master degree will be a plus
? Japanese is a plus
Additional Qualifications
? Knowledge in engine components is a plus:
? Iron or aluminum casting, sheet metal, etc....
