Requirements
Dedicated in charge of sourcing activities in China and out of China
- Account management for selection of suppliers
- Organize regular business reviews with suppliers of responsibility.
- Initial buying for sampling / project activities / new products.
- Negotiation and maintenance of contracts and supply conditions.
- Market scanning and benchmarking activities; prepare solid proposals for 2nd sourcing and/or (re-)allocation of (parts of) business
- Manage and lead the internal review of supply base performance (SCM, SQA, project mgt, price); chair the ‘Operations Review’ meeting for that purpose, ensure input from participants, and track follow-up.
- Contribute to the definition, implementation and use of a relevant set of key performance indicators
Qualification
- 5 years experience in purchasing/sourcing at furniture industry or similar industry
- Experience in working in multicultural teams.
- Preferably experience in a new business / innovative environment.
- Experience in international trade.
- Relevant experience in furniture industry is preferred.
- University (bachelor) education in a technical or commercial area.
- ‘Fit’ in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment, sees a challenge in starting up new activities.
- Excellent negotiation skills, being able to build a compelling case and convince others; familiar with contracting
- Good interpersonal skills to enable and manage strategic relationships
- Technical background (at least be able to participate in cross-functional development team meetings / discussions)
Involved person, pro-active, which accepts direct responsibilities
- Strong execution and ability of driving for result
- Ability to work under stress and ambiguity
