General Solution Unit, KM & Integration Service Area

Volvo Information Technology AB was set up in 1998 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AB Volvo. Our customers include both Volvo Group companies, the Ford-owned Volvo Car Corporation, and other global industrial companies. We have offices around the world and master a wide variety of IT areas.


KM & Integration Service department is looking for a Service Area Manager for Master Data Management, MDM.

Service Area Managers challenge is to manage service life cycle for Volvo IT's customers i.e. the Volvo Group and external customers.

Service Area Manager has to ensure that an appropriate portfolio of MDM services are created and maintained over the entire service life cycle. The Service Portfolio shall proactively meet customer demands in respect to functionality, quality, list price and availability. It should also meet Volvo IT's long term demands in terms of profitability, volume growth and ability to deliver.

The big challenge in this assignment is to start up the Master Data Management Service area within Volvo IT. Today we have several ongoing initiatives in the area and we would like to coordinate these and create a Master Data Management service portfolio.

Main responsibilities:

  • Participate in Volvo IT strategy planning process and propose strategies for the Web Content Publishing area to Service Development Council.
  • Develop services including, packaging, marketing material, internal training for sales force and service calculations.
  • Decide if the content in the service will be available globally for all Volvo IT customers or for one customer in one location.
  • Ensure that the service can be managed, operated and supported.
  • Provide clear and comprehensive plans that enable the customer to align their activities with the Service Road Map.
  • Positioning of the services and pricing recommendations.
  • Request new functionality or changes to production.
  • Ensure the services are provided at the agreed level of quality and cost by Service Level Specification agreement with production.
  • Manage the services life cycle planning providing service development roadmaps and release planning, including trigger of new product development.
  • Ensure that the Account Manager sales services within the service portfolio.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent marketing knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of the customer's business, customer's need and customer satisfaction.
  • Good knowledge of Master Data Management area.
  • Experience from Enterprise architecture
  • Able to convert technique to business benefits.
  • Ability to cooperate within a global company and to take decisions.
  • Social competence and presentation skills.
  • Proactive and a very good communicator.
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written.
  • Travelling is part of the job.
