Role Mission
The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for managing and developing Volvo IT's relationship and business with an assigned customer entity (company, division, process area, etc). The AM serves as the main contact for the customer and is responsible to act or initiate actions on all customer issues addressed to him/her. The AM is accountable towards the customer for all their business with Volvo IT. The AM seeks to maximize the benefit of Volvo IT's services and solutions for the customer.
Key performance indicators for the Account Manager include customer satisfaction, sales (only external customers), growth in strategic areas and gross profit margin.
Role Context
The Account Manager is appointed by the Global Account Manager (GAM) in dialogue with the CR&S line manager at the site where the AM is placed. The AM reports to the GAM with respect to the business with the customer.
The Account Manager works under delegation from the Global Account Manager (or external sales manager) that has overall responsibility for the customer. In the support of larger, more complex customer organizations, Volvo IT may have account structure with a hierarchy of account managers (i.e. some account managers reporting to another account manager).
Key responsibilities
·Manage Volvo IT's relationship with assigned customer(s), orchestrating the dialogue between the customer and Volvo IT and establishing an effective working model with the customer
·Support customer with developing IT plans and budgets (utilizing the Volvo IT organization)
·Develop, maintain and communicate an Account Plan for the customer aligned with customer plans and strategy
·Establish sales budgets and forecasts in dialogue with the customer, concerned delivery organizations and responsible GAM.
·Identifies and communicates customer demand signals for VIT offerings and capabilities to the VIT organization
·Pro-actively propose Volvo IT solutions and services that will improve the customer's business and operations and reduce their IT costs
·Be a member of business Steering Committees on a case by case basis
·Be a member of Volvo IT's Delivery Management Committees
·Initiate Volvo IT deliveries according to agreed assignment agreement / customer order, ensuring proper handover of the agreement with the customer to delivery management
·Ensure that Volvo IT fulfils customer agreements
·Responsible for timely and accurate invoicing to the customer, including dispute resolution and collection
·Responsible for establishing an effective network inside Volvo IT to be able to meet customer's needs and expectations.
Education and Experience Recommended
·IT or Business Management at University level is desired. 10+ Years of experience.
·Sales experience is recommended for Account Managers working with External Sales, and preferred for Account Managers working with the AB Volvo customers.
·Experience of leadership, teambuilding, network management and/or relationship building
