Position Description About Volvo Group Telematics (VGT)


Volvo Group Telematics (VGT) is hosted by Volvo IT and is a newly formed global organization that is providing Telematics off-board services to Volvo Group Business Areas and to external customers in the automotive industry. WirelessCar is a part of the new VGT organization.

Volvo group telematics provides manufacturers of cars and commercial vehicles with complete and competitive telematics offers to end-customers anywhere in the world. Our vision is to realize the true benefits of the Connected Vehicle and be the leading provider of connected services and products to the automotive industry and its eco-systems.

Role Mission

The Local Solution Manager supports the Global Solution manager with local focus.The Local Solution Mangeris responsible to manage a telematics solution that have been market adapted for a specific market or required other support, The customer of the solution can be externally (Car OEM) or internally within the Volvo Group.

Responsibilities and Powers

Business

Secure local competiveness of the solution

Interact and manage local partners

Work closely and support global solution manager - ex. drive local requirements

Local contact for the customer

Work

The Local Solution Manager responsibilities are:

· Ensure that market demands & trends are collected from customers, competitors and other sources

· Take part in LCC analysis with Global Solution manager

· Take part in the strategy and planning process with the global solution manager

· Create input to project pre-requisites towards the Global solution manager based on local customer requirements in close co-operation with various functions in VGT

· Take part in customer teams / project / operation meetings (if applicable)

· Take part in partner follow-up meetings and investigate new partner (if applicable)

· Support in sales support and customer visits

· Visit market shows, conferences and end-customers

· Forward required R&D projects to the global solution manager

· Take part in global solution meeting too secure highest level of commonality and share best practise

· Support global solution managers when required

Personnel

Education and / or Experience Recommended

· Relevant academic merits.

· Partner management experience

· Local language skills

· End-customer and solution know-how
