As a leader in the Gomez R&D organization, this individual is responsible for building high performance teams and motivating them to build world class products. This individual will be responsible for managing development projects at our US and China development labs. As a key member of the R&D management team, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese and have a keen ability to manage development projects in a complex technical environment with demanding delivery timeframes. This is a high visibility opportunity in a market leading SaaS start-up company. Responsibilities: ? Responsible for managing one to several software development teams and establishing / reviewing team individual performance goals. ? Responsible for the complete development lifecycle for product development which includes: design, prototyping, project planning, development, testing, deployment, production maintenance. ? Responsible for communicating with HQ teams and communicating strategic technology vision and business objectives of the products between development team and various other organizations. ? Responsible for managing project deliverables that reflect company priorities, balancing organizational resources to ensure the right investments at the right time, fostering an effective organization culture with growing capabilities and talents needed to deliver the plans of the organization. ? Responsible for leveraging industry best practices to improve the team and productivity and implementing development processes that are shared by cross teams. Experience Required: ? Proven track record in having successfully managed large complex projects and demonstrated ability to adjust and excel in a fast-paced collaborative environment and meet aggressive deadlines. ? 5+ years of increasing management experience in software development, project management and a well rounded leadership and management background. Working experience in an international software company with onshore / offshore development is required. Oversea experience is preferred. ? Excellent English and Chinese communication skills (both written and spoken) are required. ? This position will require travel between our Boston based headquarters and our regional office in Beijing. The exact proportion of time spent at each location is TBD. ? Demonstrated ability to drive change through an organization through communication, leadership, influencing and leadership skills. ? Bachelor (higher degree preferred) in computer science, engineering management or equivalent experience. ? The ideal candidate will possess both an expertise in formal software engineering processes (ISO, SEI-CMM), and yet the know-how to pragmatically apply process to get products delivered. ? As a member of a cross-functional team, strong teamwork skills are essential. ? Contagious enthusiasm, the ability to quickly learn new technology, and a willingness to own responsibility will be critical to success in this position.
