Corporate Counsel, China will have primary responsibility for drafting and negotiating agreements for customers and clients located in China, and providing contract support to the Asia-Pacific Regional Counsel and other legal affiliates. Corporate Counsel, China will also provide regional counsel support for a variety of other legal matters, including corporate transactions and subsidiary and affiliate corporate records, intellectual property (patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret), litigation, anti-piracy, human resources, compliance with local laws, mergers and acquisitions, and government relations. Will manage outside counsel and work with Legal Department specialists in these areas. Will lead multiple/complex legal projects, and develop and implement department policies and processes.

Corporate Counsel, China will have the ability to use business and legal knowledge to identify significant legal issues, analyze alternative solutions, make recommendations and implement solutions.

Corporate Counsel, China guides internal business managers in problem solving and ensures legal department policies and practices are reviewed and revised as legal, technology and business conditions change; directs the consistent application of corporate legal standards, employs approved standard templates and model guidance; works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in?depth evaluation of various legal and business factors; exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies, in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining optimal results; and frequently contributes to the corporate legal staff in the development of new theories and methods in legal analysis, implementation and administration.

Possesses strong organizational and planning skills.

Able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and solve problems analytically.

Able to interact with different levels of management and people with different personality styles.

Attorney licensed to practice law in China, with a law degree from a top university;

5+ years of relevant high-quality experience, including significant software licensing experience, in-house or with a major law firm.

Fluency in English required.
