PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

? Manage assigned category for PRC market:
- Implement global and regional category strategies
- Develop appropriate local market category plan

? Develop, implement and achieve yearly revenue budget for the category.

? Ensure licensees have full understanding and are complying with Disney’s business standards.


2) DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF ALL RESPONSIBILITIES
(List the key responsibilities)

1. Strategic Management
- Implement global & regional category plan / strategy.
- Develop local market category plan in line with global & regional category strategy & plan.
- Undertake market analysis to monitor industry trends, regulations, sub-categories performance and retail channels, and determine Disney’s segment share.
- Determine category key drivers (product, price, and retail channel) for DCP to expand presence consistent with local demographic and retailer needs.
- Contribute to regional / global discussion of the category on behalf of the local market.
- Act as communication link between regional category head and other category managers.

2. Licensing
- Develop, implement and achieve yearly revenue budget (wholesale sales, royalty revenue, revenue and OI) for respective category.
- Identify & contract new licensees instrumental in the development of the category (including global and regional licensees).
- Identify product, property, and channel gaps and ensure that there is a plan in place to fill the gaps. Update forecast on a weekly basis (Excel spreadsheets for renewal, new, gap with status update).
- Coordinate with DCP Compliance Group to ensure licensees comply with Disney’s labor standards.
- Ensure licensees’ thorough understanding and compliance of Disney’s contract, terms and conditions.
- Identify and develop manufacturing centers of excellence (global and regional).

3. Retail
- Work with key retail account buyers to manage Disney’s product range and presence at retail. Seek for opportunity for direct to retail.
- Work with buyers from key retail accounts to develop business opportunities, managing product sourcing, mix / range, pricing and new programs specific to each retailer’s shopping profile.
- Work with licensees to penetrate different cities for expansion
- Act as communication link between Disney and licensees and retail buyers.
- Conduct key retail accounts performance review and marketing update (quarterly).
- Identify signage and merchandising needs to respective Country Head & Regional Category Head.
 

4. Product Development
- Direct product development with Product Development team consistent with category plan and ongoing product quality improvement program.
- Administer and coordinate licensee’s product / artwork approvals with Product Development team.
- Coordinate with other regional LOB heads on product development matters e.g. event days, promotion value, new guide book release, etc.
- Work with regional licensees on their category assortment plans.

5. Finance
- Responsible for the category budget in the local market.
- Provide forecast of the category on monthly basis (revenue grading).
- Responsible for collection past due accounts receivable.
- Responsible for the administration and execution of the contract.

6. Marketing
- Coordinate with Retail, Sales & Marketing team on marketing to support sales promotion, events and advertising in the local market.
- Work with other category managers and regional LOB to ensure better understanding of consumer profiles and market needs.
- Ensure appropriate licensees implement the Disney visual merchandising programs.
- Manage marketing fund as allocated by regional LOB team.

7. Information Systems
- Maintain competency in DCP business systems
? Selectica (deal negotiation part)
? INvision (Forecasting)
? LCRS (Account Record Card / Account Receivables, Contract Admin)

5) REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

(i) Education & Training
- University graduate, preferably in Business Administration
(ii) Working Experience
- 6-10 years working experience in marketing department in a major multi-national FMCG company or FMCG industry marketing agencies, preferably with B2B sales experiences.
(iii) Personal Attributes
? Intelligent, strong respective category product knowledge.
? Self-directed, self-starter, good ability to work within a team.
? Good analytical skill and understanding of business and financial concepts.
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills
? Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
? Committed to excellence.
? Lateral thinker
 

(iii) Other requisites, languages
? Fluency in English and local language
? Hands on experience on PC software applications (e.g. Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
