Job description
- Analyze a customer's business and IT challenges and designs a comprehensive IBM System z Software solution that integrates smoothly into the customer's environment, is checked carefully for reliability, availability and scalability, and leverages the entire IBM software portfolio in order to increase IBM System z Software market share.
- Lead the IBM team in promoting the cause of technology, and of specific technologies, in order to achieve buy-in from the enterprise's management and IT communities, seeking to create new IBM System z Software opportunities as well as advance existing sales efforts.
- Lead customers and the IBM System z Software team in selecting, employing and influencing the use of appropriate methodologies and design tools to achieve the desired business and technical results.
- Coordinate and collaborate with IBM System z software Technical Specialists and SMEs to engage with the client to ensure the successful positioning, implementation and usage of IBM solution.
- Lead the IBM team in ensuring that the business vision has been satisfied through the design, adapting to inevitable design compromises and modified nonfunctional requirements, suggesting IBM System z Software solutions to customer skill gaps, correcting architectural errors, and observing the deployed system to harvest lessons for future projects.
Required Skills:
Professional Skills:
- A common set of fundamental skills in IT architecture, methodologies, products and information technologies such as ITIL and SOA, etc.
- Strong communication, business process, industry solution, problem solving and project management skills.
- Basic understanding of System z technologies such as Parallel Sysplex and DR solutions, etc.
Discipline Skills:
- Solution architectural design in particular pillar software that support the applications and business processes required by the client.
- Various techniques including modeling, simulating, and testing to validate solution architectural design and product selection.
Required Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in System z systems management (e.g. capacity planning, network, security, storage, automation and workload management) or application development. (e.g. batch or on-line applications using CICS, WAS and DB2 for z/OS)
- 3+ years of experience in DB2 for z/OS database administration.
- Full life-cycle experience of five phases of CVM (Client Value Method): UNDERSTAND the client's business and needs, EXPLORE options and approach, DEVELOP and agree to client solution, IMPLEMENT client solution and CONFIRM client value and experience.
