IHS硬件成本分析是对电子设备的整体剖析以及对其原材料清单的详细编写，向客户提供一套对电子产品详细的成本和技术分析报告。该报告很好地展示了电子产品的成本构成，为客户在电子产品设计及其成本控制上提供了宝贵的意见。IHS硬件成本分析服务通过近十年的发展，已经在成本分析领域树立了行业的标杆。
目前，IHS分析的电子设备主要有服务器，电脑， 手机，工业控制，汽车电子，医疗电子等等。
工作内容与职责
电子设备硬件成本分析的第一步就是拆解设备，电子工程师须仔细识别并详细记录所有装配器件、主器件、周边元器件，并对每个元器件进行测量，网上寻找数据规格表，同时包括拍摄照片、编辑与合成照片；成本建模、预备在线表述、数据库维护，建立一个完整的物料清单等等。
工作能力与要求
该职位候选人须拥有电子技术相关的教育背景，拥有电子元件的初级知识和视觉上识别元器件的基本技能，拥有利用搜索引擎搜索相关信息的能力。该职位人员不仅要有扎实的电子学基础知识，还要有积极的工作态度，须有强烈的学习最新电子设备、元器件及其设计的愿望。该职位适合于那些希望剖析电子产业前沿设计的人员。
