Cost Estimator Commodities
Due to the rapid growth of our company we offer a unique new position for a Cost estimator. As Cost Estimator Commodities you budget multi-discipline and single-discipline projects, programs or commodities for Roof systems
Based on minimal input you are able to prepare estimates and build the Cost database. In addition you are also good at project planning and running multiple project simultaneously. As a Cost Estimator you are also prepared to work globally in different countries and cultures. You will work closely with sales, purchasing, Finance and technology
Job description
? Make judgment on whether cost estimates made by contracted companies are complying with the contract.
? Create independent realistic cost calculation and / or evaluation of quotations (labor, material, production process) of contractors for projects.
? Contribute to the to the decrease of total costs by developing initiatives to improve the level of scoping, improvements of the basics of cost estimating by the stakeholders and improvements of the general work processes.
? Calculate/estimate the future costs of a program, project or commodity (provide Transparency) by using the individual cost elements, using established methods and valid data, to estimate the Define targets for purchasing based on optimal concepts (production, equipment, location, labor..)
? Reads and interprets suppliers (technical) specifications, drawings and quotations in order to estimate the costs.
? Visits customers and suppliers to understand production processes and efficiency.
? Collaborates with/challenge the suppliers to improve supplier efficiency and cost reduction
? Support sales in negotiations with customers in order to maximize the sales price
? Support purchasing in negotiations with suppliers in order to minimize the cost
? Follow up targets deviations in the assigned commodity and create action plans to achieve the targets
? Negotiations with contractors about quotations and unit rates together with our purchasers.
? Report cost savings and improvement actions.
? Finds inefficiencies in our work processes and initiate improvements.
? Works independently to prioritize tasks and plans the activities.
? Partly responsible for setting up and driving the ‘Çost Roadmap’
What do we expect from you?
? Msc in (Mechanical) Engineering or Business Administration
? 8+ years experience within automotive and purchasing or sales
? Good technical, analytical and organizational skills able to develop and drive clear processes.
? Excellent stakeholder management skills are required
? Excellent interpersonal and people skills
? A flexible approach in order to achieve business goals
? An understanding of wider business issues
? A very strong "Customer First" mind-set
? Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
? Willingness to travel frequently (50%).
