Department Description REAL WORLD PERFORMANCE

The Real World Performance Group is a worldwide development team focused upon Database Performance as customers see and perceive it. The goals of the groups engineers are as follows:

- Demonstrate performance leadership with benchmarks and POC activities.
- Diagnose application, product, HW performance limitations and work to eliminate them.
- Provide numerical and quality feedback on product performance.
- Educate Oracle employees, partners and customers on best performance practices
- Become a recognized database industry expert.
- Work with Oracle's customers on performance challenges in architecture, design, coding, testing, production.


Brief Posting Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

Detailed Description

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Job Requirements

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 3 years of software engineering or related experience.

Additional Details

The requirements for this position are as follows:

* Excellent Oracle Database Skills( DBA skills are not sufficient )
* Strong SQL background
* The ability to write scripts, programs quickly and accurately
* The ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of what makes a fast database
* Data Manipulation skills (compression, sorting, management, copying )
* Knowledge of Application development and associated tools
* A desire to learn and mentor your team mates
