Department Description: The Global Supply Chain JDM Operations Quality has the role to expand and development the Quality expertise of the Motorola Solutions (MSI) critical JDM partners and the key JDM material suppliers that are defined critical for the business. We lead the realization of significant improvement in quality by focusing on high-value opportunities, leveraging our and JDM resources, developing JDM and suppliers along with driving the utilization of Six Sigma quality tools. Lead the effort in the Quality section of the supplier scorecard process and drive quality improvement plans. Provide lead role in identifying and driving quality issues with resolution and processes improvements to ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented and sustained at our JDM's and their key suppliers. This is completed by being the "Quality One Face" for JDM supply chain related issues to enable our MSI Supply Chain to meet customer commitments. We align with our MSI Supply Chain and Quality partners by providing boots on the ground at the critical JDM partners (also known as the BIG 4) with category expertise, transparent communication, and rapid solutions attacking systemic quality issues, expert problem solvers, and drivers of tactical Quality Events.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations: In this role the candidate will be responsible for; but not limited to:

- Manage the Quality performance of multiple critical categories (Mechanical and Electrical) This position requires a strong background in Displays and Touch Panel. Expertise needs to the design and manufacturing techniques and standards related to display or touch panel design, manufacturing, etc.
- Responsible for championing JDM's suppliers capability for quality and delivery of high risk or unique components awarded to their assigned suppliers
- Responsible for qualifying the high-risk components awarded to their assigned categories and JDM suppliers using PPAP / PSO process.
- Responsible for championing onsite JDM supplier process characterization (continuous improvement) efforts, supplier yield & capacity improvement.
- Responsible for performing periodic quality assessments of their assigned JDM suppliers and sub-categories
- Establish and carry out programs to assure JDM supplier material quality and reliability levels will consistently be within levels required by a high technology product.
- Travel to JDM supplier sites should be expected as part of implementation of improvement programs and continuous monitoring of supplier progress.
- Lead Quality Meetings with JDM suppliers and develop and monitor continuous improvement plans.
- The candidate must be able to independently solve problems and be able to recommend and/or drive corrective actions.
- Drive Supply Chain level product improvement back to JDM/MSI engineering during the NPI phases and/or as indentified during continuous improvement activities.
- Work with each of the BIG 4 JDM's to ensure MSI Key Supplier Development processes are implemented in the JDM's Key supply base. (Ex: Change Management, Sub-Tier Supplier Management, Parts Qualification)

Specific Knowledge/Skills: - Strong understanding of effective quality systems and methodologies (ISO / TL).
- Strong statistical analysis skills with solid command of the tools and methodologies
- Understands basic Program management methodologies
- Understands internal and external business environment, practices, and trends in quality management.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking and champions innovative ideas.
- Able to make decisions of moderate to high complexity that impact schedules/deliverables of projects.
- Utilizes resourcefulness/negotiation to effectively leverage and focus needed resources across organizational and geographical boundaries.
- Demonstrates responsiveness and promptness in dealing with business needs.
- Ability to work regional and global level projects.
- Able to develop and deliver professional presentation to customer and senior leaders.
- Green Belt / Black Belt preferred (Green Belt Certified to complete within first 6 months in role)
- Engineering knowledge in DOE, FMEA, SPC, Process Characterization, GR&R - Sufficient command of the principles of statistics and quality assurance systems, and PPAP is preferred
- Knowledge in Mechanical category and Supply Management
- Basic understanding on LEAN fundamentals
- Knowledge for EE experience in Telecommunication preferred.
- Able to demonstrate expertise in Manufacturing Process and Process Development
- Applicant must demonstrate the ability to interpret component specifications for the purpose of anticipating design or part discrepancies that will lead to part quality or reliability problems.
- Good written & verbal communication (English), Presentation, Interpersonal skills -Self motivated & passionate to drive zero defect quality culture
- Master Degree of engineering in area of Mechanical or Process. (Preferred)
- 10 yrs+ experience (Mfg, Dev, or mfg process related Quality role)
