Job Title: Global Supply Chain - Supplier Development Engineer (Mechanical)
Department Description: The Global Supply Chain SDE has the goal to improve material suppliers quality in terms of both NPI and mass production by using 3'P approach of Predict, Prevent and Protect. Our key internal working partners are Category manager, NPI program team, factory Supplier Quality Engineering, Customer Quality, Engineering team.
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:
- Manage the Quality performance of multiple critical mechanical categories including Antenna, Connector & Cable Assembly, Accessory and etc.
- Responsible for qualifying the high-risk components awarded to their assigned suppliers using PPAP / PSO process.
- Responsible for championing onsite supplier process characterization (continuous improvement) efforts, supplier yield & capacity improvement.
- Responsible for performing periodic quality system assessments of their assigned suppliers
- Establish and carry out quality improvement programs to assure supplier material quality and reliability levels will consistently be within levels required by a high technology product.
- Travel to supplier sites should be expected as part of implementation of improvement programs and continuous monitoring of supplier progress.
- Lead Quality Meetings with suppliers and develop and monitor continuous improvement plans.
- The candidate must be able to independently solve problems and be able to recommend and/or drive corrective actions.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
- Able to demonstrate expertise in manufacturing process and process development, manufacturing engineering background including process engineering, quality engineering is preferred
- Strong understanding of effective quality systems and methodologies (ISO / TL).
- Green Belt / Black Belt preferred
- Engineering knowledge in DOE, FMEA, SPC, Process Characterization, GR&R - Sufficient command of the principles of statistics and quality assurance systems, and PPAP is preferred
- Basic understanding on LEAN fundamentals
- Good written & verbal communication (English), Presentation, Interpersonal skills -Self motivated & passionate to drive zero defect quality culture
- Master Degree of engineering in area of Mechanical or Process. (Preferred)
- 10 yrs+ experience
