This role will be critical to the safe delivery in the BP lubricant plant in Taicang to support the growth of China lubricant business.

The role supports HSSE manager to carry out BP and national health, safety and Environment (HSE) policies and drive HSE programs and initiative in Taicang plant.

The role will be responsible for the work activities in daily operation and risky events, with an expectation to be professional in process safety thus to support the new production line in future.

？ Continually look for ways to improve industry standards with respect to manufacturing operations in order to improve the quality and HSE track record. Work closely with production and maintenance team to run a smoothly and safety plant.
？ Support owner of operations within the area of accountability, to ensure all activities, products and services are appropriately documented to allow for regulatory applicability to be captured.
？ Act as procedure owner have completed OMS online training and capable to write procedure following 4.1 Practices and Procedures requirement. Help technicians and operators for developing and leading as needed. Ensure technicians and operators can get adequate professional guidance and skills from the incumbent.
？ Act as response team member for crisis / continuity management, with accountabilities consistent with relevant response plans and as assigned by the response team leader.
？ Working together with relevant departments to assess HSSE training needs, develop HSE training system and materials and provide training/ competence evaluation as needed.
？ Develop and maintain a field inspection program and follow up the action items closure plan.
？ Be involved in selection and evaluation of maintenance contractors, train contractors and supervise their work as needed.
？ To deal with public relationships including local authority's visit and inspection and external affairs that may have HSSE implication to plant normal operation; local authorities for HSSE related licence or permit for the manufacturing operation.
？ To do failure root cause analysis and take corrective actions and share lessons learnt. The failure root causes are analysed and actions take, lessons learnt.
？ To plan and implement HSSE Instrument & Electrical equipment inspection, preventive maintenance, and provide support for other equipment maintenance. Ensure Instrument & Electrical equipment are in safe working condition while machine unplanned breakdown and maintenance cost are minimized.
？ To develop and co-ordinate the implementation of specific HSE programmes, procedures and processes in the plant to ensure compliance with BP and national HSE standards and legislation requirements.

University degree, engineering or chemicals related majors

？ HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) technical skill and management experience in similar industrial Minimum 3+ years HSSE experience in manufacturing operations
？？ Excellent team player
？ National certified safety engineer is preferred
？ The individual must bring a flexible yet disciplined approach to all facets of this job, In addition, the successful candidate should have:
？ Be familiar with HSE related legislation and legal requirements
？ Result oriented with strong analytical skills.
？ Excellent presentation & communication skills, able to deal with people at all levels.
？ Good planning and organizing, problem solving and coaching skills
？ Execution Capability
？ Good written and spoken English.

？ Essential Education - Junior college in safety or Engineering or above.
？ Similar HSSE experience in international chemical or oil gas company.
