WAN OPS Build Manager

Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations (MCIO) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The team is responsible for designing, building and operating our unified global datacenters; managing the demand planning and capacity utilization of our unified infrastructure; and responsible for all of the operations needed to run the physical infrastructure (including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams). We focus on smart growth with an emphasis on automation, data driven engineering, cost-effectiveness and environmental sustainability. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 100 datacenters and 1 million servers. Our portfolio is built and managed by a team of subject matter experts working 24x7x365 to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide. At the forefront of the action in MCIO is our Datacenter Operations Group! In the Regional Datacenter (DC) Build Manager role, you will have an opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of industry professionals across Design & Engineering, Construction, Information Technology (IT) and Critical Environments (CE) spectrums, supporting the DC Operations Teams in end-to-end builds of leased mission-critical Datacenters

and WAN sites. Focusing on the build of Microsoft?s expanding datacenter portfolio, you will have the opportunity to utilize your broad range of Telecom and IT related datacenter design & buildout knowledge to support various types of concurrent datacenter/WAN build projects. From assisting in site selection, design & buildout, as well as support of initial deployments of Microsoft's online services in your region?s datacenters -- You will provide crucial services such as designing, coordinating and overseeing the layout & configuration of IT infrastructure supporting deployment efforts. Your skills will support locations across the regional portfolio - all built on the cutting edge of datacenter industry design and equipment! Excellent interpersonal awareness, project management, and communication skills will be pivotal in bringing your technical abilities to life, supporting Microsoft?s future success! Basic knowledge of HVAC, Cooling, International Electrical Standards as related to datacenter deployment and design. While this position is typically a normal daytime function, the Individual must be willing and prepared to work & travel in response to a 24 x 7 business in the event of a local or national requirements or otherwise in order to service Data Centre Operations. REQUIRED - Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

3+ Years experience supporting buildout operations in mission-critical facilities

3+ Years experience working on large scale infrastructure design and execution related projects

Preferred - Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Strong working knowledge of physical IT infrastructure

Strong working knowledge of varied network designs and implementations

Knowledge of construction terminology, and documentation

Ability to create, review, and sign off on Bills of Material (BOM)

Willingness to work flexible, non-business, or other off-hours scenarios per the rhythm of business

Capability to support extended travel (up to 50% at times) per the rhythm of business in your region

Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, coordinate and execute project schedules and associated tasks in a dynamic, high pressure environment across concurrent projects in a wide geographical range

　　与本地客户和技术社区保持密切互动在微软全球研发过程中至关重要。鉴于中国市场的重要性，服务器与开发工具事业部中国研发团队通过广泛交流,有组织地参与到本地生态系统和技术社区互动中：一）通过微软技术大会（TechEd）、MSDN和TechNet等微软技术网站与广大的本地开发人员和 IT专业人员交流；二）针对目标群体推出了微软技术先行计划(TAP)，微软最有价值专家(MVP)开放日、贵宾接待等特殊项目理解客户的需求；三）与相关原始设备制造商（OEM）、独立软件开发商（ISV）、系统集成商（SI）等合作伙伴开展深入互动。2010年9月，服务器与开发工具事业部中国研发团队组建了微软中国云计算创新中心（CCIC），全力以赴地支持合作伙伴和客户顺利运用微软Hyper-V和Azure云计算产品和技术。
