Oracle Linux and Virtualization group, as part of corporation Architecture division, develops and supports products including Oracle VM, Oracle Linux and Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK), Oracle VM is a server virtualization product that fully supports both Oracle and non-Oracle applications. Oracle VM server virtualization is designed to enable rapid enterprise application deployment and simplify life cycle management. Oracle Linux is the only recommended Linux distribution for Oracle applications and has been engineered to provide the most secure, scalable, and reliable solution for mission critical workloads. Oracle Linux with the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel provides the best performance and the latest features from Oracle and the mainline kernel community.

Oracle Linux and Virtualization system test team works on Oracle VM, Oracle Linux and UEK with the focuses to ensure product reliability, scalability, performance. The team works closely with customers and other Oracle internal teams to design, develop and execute the complex manual or automated system level stress, performance and scalability tests, the team also works closely with partners and vendors to ensure the interoperability between the latest hardware/virtualization technologies and Oracle products.

Responsibilities:

    Skilled in database schema design experiencestranslate a logical schema to a database schema
    Skilled in scripts development for data transformation among various data source formats
    Skilled in web application development
    Develop, implement and execute Oracle Linux and Oracle VM server/storage certification and interoperability tests
    Develop and maintain the automated storage tests
    Support hardware certification by 3rd parties
    Investigate reported server/torage issues at in-house HCL lab
    Work with development team on debugging and fixing issues
    Work with product management team during engagements with customers
    Work with technology partners to evaluate new hardware and software solutions
    Maintain accurate information on certified hardware in HCL database
    Configure and manage complex hardware systems, such as cluster with external FC, iSCSI and NFS storage.

Preferred Qualifications

    Familar with Oracle APEX Development
    Familiar with enterprise storage techonlogies, such as FC SAN, iSCSI SAN and NAS storage
    Knowledge and experience with Oracle VM and Oracle Linux
    Knowledge and experience with storage hardware components such as Fiber Channel HBAs, Ethernet adapters, FCoE converged adapter (CNA) and iSCSI adapters and related Linux kernel drivers
    Good at Python and other scripting languages
    Familiar with other virtualization products such as OpenStack
    Minimal 4-5 years experience in software development or QA
