Job Description / Duties / Responsibilities
- Develop control algorithms and simulation models for wind turbine electrical drivetrain and power converters according to the needs of ABB’s customers and partners in DFIG wind turbine segment
- Develop specialist’s know-how of ABB’s wind turbine power converter products in conjunction with grid codes and grid integration
- Work independently together with ABB’s customers and partners in defining simulation models and discussing the results
- Actively develop the methods, tools and models at ABB’s wind turbine drive software team

Key skills / competencies
- Control theory
- Electrical machines, especially DFIG machines
- Embedded systems
- Power systems know-how and simulations
- Familiar with power electronics


Qualifications Required (Qualifications, Skills & Experience)
- Master’s degree or Ph.D in control theory, electrical machines or power systems is preferable.
- Several years experience in designing embedded control systems or control algorithms and electrical motor/generator control or grid side converter control.
- Analytical and open minded co-operative team worker, capable of guidance for other team members' work.
- Analytical in problem solving
- IT skills: C/C++, Matlab Simulink, Python
- Excellent English communication skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, few weeks per year


Working Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years
