Position: Market Intelligence FBU Analysis


Division/Department: Sales & Marketing and Corporate Strategy

Location: Beijing


Main goals and objectives:


? Support senior managers in market forecast data analysis

? Set up information intelligence

? Analyze competitor trends and define patterns of FBU competitors

? Propose recommendation on FBU strategy of Volkswagen Group brands

? Consult with VW Group brands, as well as external partners (dealers)


Your Responsibilities:


1. Gather and analyze competitor data on current Sales Situation FBU cars (portfolio, vehicle specifications, sales, mix, stock, network, overall strategy)


2. Support development of FBU Total Market segmentation frameworks

(regional sales analysis, car type analysis);

? Compile data and information for segmentation frameworks / analysis

? Derive actions for Volkswagen Group FBU brands from analysis


3. Define competitor profiles from actual market data by deriving competitive patterns


4. Define overall FBU trends based on data intelligence with clear recommendations for product strategy FBU


5. Propose recommendations for Top Management to define FBU Volkswagen Group Strategy and thus steer FBU Business


6. Steer FBU market assessment of all FBU Brands of VGC (Region China, as well as Headquarters)


7. Consult monthly with dealerships (sales managers) on FBU market sentiment


8. Data Collection and processing FBU

? Weekly AaH, Production, Showroom Traffic

? Monthly AaK, AaH, Production, Registration data, Stock, Macro economy data

? Long-term market data

? Database management

9. Information Intelligence FBU

? Competitors’ short and long term sales and production plan

? Dealer visits and market research

? New model segmentation proposal

? Short and long-term information concerning new model launches


10. Report drafting on fundamental analysis FBU

? Monthly Key Indicator Report for Top Management

? Top 15 Models by Sub Segment

? Part of Status Report

? PR Total Market & Segmentation Trend Forecast

? Reports on policies and regulations, competitors and market trend analysis

? Other ad hoc analyses requested by top management and meeting preparation


11. Vendor Management FBU

? Data purchase (under 10k RMB)

? Contract management


Our Requirements:


Necessary education:


? University degree or above: business, economics, marketing and sales, business management or similar

? Preferred subject major in automotive management or automotive engineering


Personal skills:


? Structured thinking, networked thinking

? Profound analytical skills

? Result orientation

? Communication and presentation skills

? Client and detail oriented, work well independently and in a team environment


Technical Knowledge and Skills:

? Basic knowledge in automotive industry, including major players and their products, government policies, product segmentation methodology, etc.

? Knowledge in Statistics and Macroeconomics

? Knowledge Management skills

? Certified Professional in Demand Forecasting is a plus

Working experience (in years):


? Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management

? Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive industry related business, such as car company, or consulting company

? Combined with business analysis and research analysis

? Experience specifically in Chinese automotive industry and market


Remarks (Language, IT Knowledge, Certificates etc.):


? English and Chinese language skills mandatory, German is a plus

? Skills in standard Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

? SPSS Training certificate is a plus

? MS Office proficient

? Proficiency in technical report & memo creation, Industry knowledge in automotive industry

? English language skills essential, good at official English writing, German and   Chinese advantageous
