The Global Supplier Quality and Engineering has the role to expand and development the Quality expertise of the Motorola Solutions (MSI) supply base. We lead the realization of significant improvement in quality by focusing on high-value opportunities, leveraging our resources, developing suppliers and utilizing quality tools. Lead the effort in the Quality section of the supplier scorecard process and drive quality improvement plans. Provide lead role in identifying and driving quality issues with resolution and processes improvements to ensure permanent corrective actions are implemented and sustained at our suppliers.

This is completed by being the "Quality One Face" for supplier related issues to enable the MSI Supply Chain to meet customer commitments. We align with our Supply Chain partners by providing boots on the ground supplier support with category alignment, transparent communication, and rapid solutions attacking systemic quality issues, expert problem solvers, and drivers of tactical Quality Events. We act and think globally, but align regionally to ensure category expertise.


Scope of Responsibilities / Expectations

In this role the candidate will be responsible for; but not limited to:

-Manage the Quality performance of multiple critical categories (Mechanical and Electrical. This position requires a strong background in Entergy and Power Supply products. Would included cells, battery and charger design.
-Responsible for championing supplier's capability for quality and delivery of high risk or unique components awarded to their assigned suppliers
-Responsible for qualifying the high risk components awarded to their assigned categories and suppliers using PPAP / PSO process.
-Responsible for championing onsite supplier process characterization (continuous improvement) efforts, supplier yield & capacity improvement.
-Responsible for performing periodic quality assessments of their assigned suppliers and sub-categories
-Identify lean opportunity in supply chain, drive lean activity through supplier and internal team.
-Establish and carry out programs to assure supplier material quality and reliability levels will consistently be within levels required by a high technology product.
-Travel to supplier sites should be expected as part of implementation of improvement programs and continuous monitoring of supplier progress.
-Participate in program supplier selection with Sourcing/Category Management/NPI/Engineering
-Assess potential new suppliers for that commodity and make recommendations on which suppliers should be on the Approved Supplier List (ASL)
-Lead Quality Meetings with suppliers and develop and monitor continuous improvement plans.
-The candidate must be able to independently solve problems and be able to recommend and/or drive corrective actions.
