Expectations and Tasks:

This position will be working with the China legal team and Asia Pacific Japan legal team to provide legal assistance to the various lines of business on a wide variety of business and will be responsible for a broad range of legal issues arising from the operations and commercial activities in China, including software licensing, technology licensing, maintenance and support, consulting, training and education, RFPs and bid activities, distributorship, corporate secretarial duties, HR issues, commercial disputes, litigation management and external counsel management. The candidate must be expected to work with the management team in the daily operations.

Education and Qualification/Skills and competencies

Qualified to practice in China

Minimum seven to eight years relevant experience

Substantial experience in reviewing, negotiating, documenting, drafting and closing commercial contracts

Transaction experience within an IT environment of a MNC is preferred for this role.

Effectively bilingual in Mandarin and English

Desktop/laptop computer capability

Creativity, pro-activity, and sound judgment in developing and implementing legal and business savvy solutions and responding to trends of the law

Ability to handle multiple inquiries and assignments in a time pressured environment
