The Inside Sales - Vendor Manager (ISVM) is responsible for ensuring that vendor sales agents working on behalf of Microsoft meet the conditions described in the Statement of Work with the vendor. This SOW defines the target deliverables (e.g. include opportunity creation, revenue and customer satisfaction) expected by the segment for which these vendors work. In the Corporate Accounts segment, the ISVM ensures that these vendor resources increase revenue and customer satisfaction by developing qualified opportunities, working with partners as they close those opportunities, and following-up with the customer to ensure deployment.
The ISVM achieves these ends through a strong working relationship with the vendor company’s team-lead or on-site supervisor.
The ISVM:
- is a key contributor to the vendor RFP process, working closely with the RFP owner: the Sales Management - Tele (SMT) role.
- owns defining the annual Statement of Work with the vendor and the local segment lead.
- organizes the quarterly business reviews under the direction of the SMT.
- makes certain that each vendor seller creates actionable account plans and territory plans.
- manages the business of sales by tracking productivity of the team, ensuring forecast accuracy and producing comparative metrics.
- provides guidance to vendor sellers on Microsoft products and selling process, and
- is also responsible for making sure that the vendor team understands the marketing resources and partner organizations available to help close business.
At a minimum this position is responsible for managing vendor inside territory managers focused on Corporate Account customers (commercial or Public Sector). Depending on the size of the subsidiary, in addition to the Inside Territory Manager role, this position may also be responsible for managing a mixed team of vendor resources focused on partner management, Dynamics customers and others.
Qualification
- 5 - 8 years of related experience;
- The ideal candidate has a combination of the following experience: supervisor in a sales or business development role, partner or relationship management, purchasing or contract negotiations.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) is required; Master’s Degree and MBA is preferred;
Professional Training and Certification:
- First line sales management training; partner management; sales methodologies (equivalent to MSSP); negotiation; financial analysis, purchasing management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 5 years experience leading a direct or indirect sales team with proven results
- Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of solution selling techniques and selling software solutions to business customers
- Experience in contract management, relationship management and vendor management
- Ability to motivate, encourage and coach others to develop strong relationship-building and sales skills
- Solid knowledge of the business, customers, partners, Microsoft strategy and how they work together
- Demonstrated communication skills including clear and concise verbal and written business communication in local language
- Demonstrated ability to influence
- Self motivation to drive personal and team performance to achieve targets and strive for continuous improvement
- Demonstrated cross group collaboration abilities
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- High commitment to business and personal integrity and professionalism
- Able to use Microsoft applications and CRM systems.
