Field Solution Manager
The core purpose of the Field Solution Manager is to enable great and user centric connected business experiences in the Field through IT solutions.
The Field Solution Manager has a pivotal position in the improvement to the way we do business by being the tie between IT and the Field. In particular, Field Solution Managers are in a unique position to add value for IT and with corporate business partners through their understanding of Field activities and processes, relationships with primary Field SMS&P, Partner and Telesales stakeholders, and advocating of Field feedback into the Corporate business and IT teams. The net result of the role is to influence and deploy IT solutions that drive field productivity improvements, revenue, and customer satisfaction for primary stakeholders in the field.
Responsibilities:
- The Field Solution Manager role is responsible for working with Corporate and Field stakeholders, across all phases of Microsoft’s ITLC, to influence, deploy, and adopt effective IT solutions in the Field. This includes identifying and assessing field needs, prioritizing requirements, driving deployment and adoption activities such as change management activities, readiness, and UAT, and providing post implementation support through driving field change requests and escalation resolution.
- The Field Solution Manager drives these activities through the role of being a single point of contact for SMS&P, Partner, and Telesales stakeholders in the field as it relates to IT solutions. The role works closely with various Corporate IT solution management teams, Corporate Businesses, and other User Experience IT platform, business relationship management, infrastructure, data, operations and business excellence management teams.
- This role will work closely with field SMS&P, Partner, and Telesales stakeholders across multiple countries and time zones with a focus on the China Go Big project. As well, the Field Solution Manager will also represent the Field IT Solution Management team in driving particular global solutions working directly with key points of contact within Corporate MSIT.
- The role will also involve flexing to support other functional in areas (such as sales, marketing, services etc.) in a Field Solutions management capacity should the need arise to scale delivery on a priority program.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of solution, project, process, and/or change management with proven track record of successful delivery in support of Sales, Marketing, and/or field communities.
- Have the ability to support work across multiple time zones.
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in the IT or software industry or in business/IT consulting services.
- Minimum BS/BA degree in Information Systems, related field OR equivalent business experience; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Project management experience, PMP preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven self-starter with a track record of successful entrepreneurial/individual contributor.
- Ability to influence and communicate at senior levels.
- Strong cross-group collaboration skills.
- Strong acumen in technology licensing structures, approaches, and processes.
- Business process design methodology and implementation.
- Willingness to travel at least once a quarter
