JOB DESCRIPTION
- Work closely with designers to build strong understanding of the design intent and their fabric/trim expectation to deliver core/fashion right materials within our price parameter
- Research new fabric trends for design teams and develop value priced and executable fabric/trims to meet expectation
- Establish new and manage existing vendor relationships in conjunction with Product Development.
- Responsible for the timely development of fabrics in accordance with calendar deadlines
- Work with functional team to communicate and support the establishment of performance standards on new fabric developments and assist in quality related issues as they apply to fabric
- Participates in seasonal sample review with preparation to speak current development or issues and a back up plan necessary to ensure smooth execution
- Responsible for staying current with new fabric trends, development and technical advances as well as competitive information
- Partner with factories, supplier and with design team to ensure consistent standards are maintained throughout the development / production process
- Monitored sample quality and provided feedback on color
- Responsible for building and up keeping archive for all fabric and trim directory.
- Prepared and organized seasonal development books.

REQUIRED SKILLS
- Minimum of 5 years fabric sourcing experience or equivalent
- Excellent knowledge of fabric and yarn characteristics, development and performance standards. Working knowledge of apparel costing in the manufacturing
- Good knowledge of the understanding of fabric mills, fabric and fabric production
- Exceptionally strong problem solving and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to work within retail (production, merchandising, planning) environment
- Strong team player, organizational and administrative skills necessary
- Strong project management ability and communication skill
- Strong production skills or have experience manufacturing side highly advantageous
