Job summary

Red Hat's JBoss Quality Engineering team is looking for a Junior Quality Engineer to join us. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of quality for Red Hat's JBoss Enterprise Application Platform. You will gain a deep understanding of complex Java Enterprise technologies like Java Message Service, Java Persistence, Java EE Connector architecture, Java Transaction, Java API for WebSocket, and contexts and dependency injection. You'll learn about enterprise features like load balancing and high availability, and you will get experience with application server tuning on different JVMs and with enterprise application development. As a Quality Engineer, you will design complex test scenarios and develop enterprise java applications used for testing, automated tests, and testing frameworks. This position is a great opportunity to make a difference in building the next generation of open source Java web frameworks and Java middleware while working on products used by people all over the world.
Primary job responsibilities

Gain a deep understanding of technologies from the Enterprise Java platform
Develop enterprise applications used for testing
Test automation in various environments, e.g. cloud and operating systems
Act as an internal advocate for customers
Document new bugs and advocate their resolution and fix with developers
Communicate the impact of bugs to customers with developers and support
Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies

Required skills

Experience with Java; basic knowledge of Java EE
Experience with relational databases, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or UNIX-like operating systems, Ant, Maven, SVN, and Git
Good communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
