Cloud Support Specialist
Positiont Description:
IBM CDL IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) team has needs for engineers to help building/supporting world class cloud computing platform which has thousands virtual systems. We are growing our teams and looking for experienced technical professional to support Cloud infrastructure and service. The candidates will have opportunity to work with IBM global cloud expert to adopt up-to-date cloud computing technical into current IBM cloud environments. Apart from infrastructure maintenance, infrastructure optimization and troubeshooting, the candidates will also be responsible for service maintencance and new solution deployment and support.
Since we are service team, the candidates should have good communication skill and service oriented understanding.
Responsibilities
Work closely with architect to perform the OpenStack environment hw/sw deployment.
Responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products.
Performs preventive maintenance, site surveys, replacement, and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
Uses a variety of hand tools, engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units.
Understand, troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve partner and customer issues.
Drive projects that improve support-related processes and our customers' technical support experience.
Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span multiple OpenStack Cloud services
Define and manage problem resolution plans and communicate closure/resolution to partners and customers.
Effectively manage many different tasks simultaneously.
Assist in improving and creating processes and procedures to improve quality and productivity in team.
Interact with leading technologists around the world, apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers' individual needs.
Documents all service related activities, review documentation on new products for accuracy and usability.
Required skills
1~3 years of IT experience in Bachelor's degree.
Background in customer engagement with a major professional services organization or within the services division of IT department.
Familiar with Linux service, installation, configuration, daily operation, troubleshooting, log analysis.
Familiar with MySQL maintenance or optimization. Experience in Development skill as DB2, Java, Python, Tomcat or other Web service is preferred.
Advanced skills with command-line tools and scripting languages like Python, Perl, Ruby or others. Experience with automation frameworks and tools like Puppet, Ansible, or CFEngine is preferred.
Extensive technical experience with virtualization and cloud technologies is plus, especial for OpenStack.
Familiar with regular network devices/equipment operations and configurations. Knowledge in network, security, TCP/IP. Certificate of RHCE/RHCT and CCNP/CCNA preferred.
Passion for open source software, tooling, and automation.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
