SUMMARY

“TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER” - A highly skilled technical support engineer to provide remote and on-site post sales technical support to customers in China. Key focus on Optical Networking, Data Center Networking, Storage Protocol and High Speed Ethernet Test Equipment.

JOB DUTIES & TASKS

？ Provide Remote Technical Support to customers for JDSU products
？ Provide on-site Technical Support to key customers
？ Be the CCOD customer contact for China region
？ Manage customer trouble tickets using SFDC CASE system
？ Function as Tier 1 support, working with Tiers 2 & 3 to support customers
？ Provide troubleshooting support and problem resolution to customers
？ Ownership of tickets end to end till resolution
？ Performance metrics against TL9000 standards


REQUIRED SKILLS-KNOWLEDGE

？ Strong technical experience in a telecom or computer networking related field (for example: Applications Engineer, Test Engineer, IT Hardware Manager)
？ Familiarity with 40G & 100G High Speed Ethernet Networks, Optical networks.
？ Knowledge of IP, OTN, SDH technologies
？ Familiarity with LAN/SAN network architectures
？ Must have excellent people skills and a keen interest in keeping up with a rapidly growing technology
？ Windows PC troubleshooting competence

QUALIFICATIONS

？ University Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or combination of education and experience.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

？ Experience in network trouble-shooting a plus
？ Experience with high speed fiber transport networks a plus
？ Fibre Channel, FCoE, iSCSI, SAS/SATA or network protocol analyzer experience a plus
？ Experience with SONET/SDH/PDH a plus
？ Knowledge on jitter, wander and their measurements for SDH, OTN, SyncE and BITS？ Work Experience in the testing of high speed fiber transport networks
