Report to the Senior Editor (Medicine, Biomedicine & Life Sciences), Beijing

Functions and Duties
n Actively build up author/editor/reviewer network among scientific community.
n Keep abreast of the latest development of responsible subject areas, focus on emerging or hot topics as well as interdisciplinary researches.
n Plan, acquire and manage Editorial Projects with Chinese authors/editors directly or in cooperation with Chinese partners. Editorial Projects include journals, books, proceedings and electronic products.
n Be responsible for the quality of the Editorial Projects, including metadata, academic content, language, layout, etc.
n Work closely with the editors in the GPU by subject disciplines to achieve the targets assigned by the company.
n Help present Springer's overall biomedicine program at conference exhibits in China.

Requirements
n Scientific editorial/publishing experience, including contact with editors, authors and reviewers desirable.
n Experience of developing and maintaining productive and friendly relations/partnerships with academic and industry-based scientists.
n Preferably experience of presenting information to and conducting discussions with senior academics and representatives of organisations (e.g. learned societies, libraries).
n Preferred a master degree or PhD in life sciences or medicine. Further experience of the research environment is desirable.
n Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Mandarin.
n Ready to travel within China.
n Strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and capability of handling multiple priorities.
n High motivation with a sense of self-discipline and entrepreneurial interests.
n Experience of living / working in a foreign country outside China preferable.
