IBM Storage Interoperability Test team is responsible for interoperability test of IBM storage with switches, servers and all flavors of OS. Storage being tested include IBM DS8000, Spectrum Accelerate, Spectrum Virtualize and FlashSystem; switches include mainstream Cisco and Brocade switches; servers include IBM power and system z servers as well as x86 commodity servers; OSes include Windows, Linux (x86 Linux, Power Linux and zLinux), Unix, PowerVM, PowerKVM, Hyper-V, VMware, etc. Beyond these fundamental infrastructure tests, the team is also getting into the cloud area – studying and deploying OpenStack to certify IBM storage for Rehhat OpenStack Plaform, as well as other exciting internal cloud projects!

The team has a broad technical scope and lots of subject matter experts, this will help new members to open their mind while giving them very good mentoring in the areas they want to grow. In this Automation Developer role, you will work with IBM local and US teams to develop and maintain tools and scripts to facilitate IBM Storage Interoperability test.

Main responsibilities:

Work with users/testers to define and analyze test tool requirements

Design and maintain development framework and infrastructure

Develop and maintain tools to improve test efficiency and quality

Fix defects timely and effectively

Enable users to use the developed tools efficiently

Required Skills:

Proficient in C/C++

Good experience in web development (PHP is preferred)

Adapt at MS Visual Studio and/or GNU/Linux GCC/Eclipse IDE

Have multi-thread programming experience

Good understanding of object-oriented programming paradigm and design patterns

Good understanding of software engineering process and principles

Good understanding of OS concept and internals

Good verbal and written English

Good communication skills and good team-work spirit

Self-starter, have strong sense of ownership

Have a master degree in CS or EE

0~3 years working experience in related areas

Experience in Java, JavaScripts and Java SWING is a plus

Driver development experience is a plus

Experience in performance tuning and workload optimization is a plus

Good knowledge of Linux/AIX is a plus

Familiar with NFS and CIFS is a plus
