Principal Chemical Engineer_(Water Treatment)

Location: Beijing

Roles and Responsibilities (specific accountabilities):

- Independently develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems.

- Independently determine the power chemical system process and configuration, completing the proposals and execution of power plant chemical system basing on plant basic information.

- Serves as a technical specialist and has knowledge and skill set to provide consultation and guidance to project teams in a particular practice area.

- Typically supports multiple projects on the very complex technical challenges.

- Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables for projectsProvides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies.Capable on preparing complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.

- Strong knowledge on system P & I D and equipment arrangement Vendor’s supplied system package management.

- Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.

- Develops and applies advanced engineering solutions to complex problems.

- Reviews lower level engineering work or assignmentsLeading production teams; coordinating multiple discipline activity; and serving as the responsible charge for projects.

- Establishes work plan to be applied to a given project.Implements resource management strategy.

- Manages engineering resources for small groups of a single discipline.

- Resolves resource conflicts and identifies training needs. Client facing ability, responsible for determining identification of key client interests and drivers on projects.

- Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on moderately complex projects.


Education and Experience Requirement

- Bachelor of engineering or equivalent on chemical (Water Treatment) engineering. Master degree of chemical engineering is also preferred.

- Over 15 years of experience in Chemical water treatment/ waste water treatment engineering, especially power plant experience is preferred.

- Understand the chemical water treatment system configuration, sizing, and the water chemistry of the power plant, i.e. cycle makeup treatment (boiler makeup treatment), condensate polishing system, cycle chemical dosing system, cycle sampling system, waste water treatment system, etc.. Site commissioning experience is also preferred.


Skills and Competencies

- Good knowledge of power plant chemical treatment process.Good ability of English, both written and oral plus have excellent command of mandarin.Initiative (proactive approach). Attention to detail. Creativity skills in solving difficult problems are demonstrated. Interpersonal skills are well developed.

- Problem solving skills.Ability to cope with moderate to high levels of stress.Computer skills – Microsoft office, Auto CAD.
