Role Summary/Purpose

The Application Engineer is responsible for technical communication with sale function and customer, providing technical proposal, defining customer needs and handing over project to related function and etc. In this role you will work closely with related commercial team and engineering team to win customer orders, promote GE’s drilling products.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop product strategies with product team relevant to the market opportunities
• Communicate individual customer requirements regards to design and quotation
• Gather industry intelligence to inform business decision-making
• Communicate requirements for order fulfillment to engineering, sourcing, operations and etc.
• Direct customer management through clear communication internally and externally
• Document competitors’ activities and assess potential market moves
• Review and influence customer specifications to assure compliance and/or noted exceptions for development of equipment and service quotations
• To be single point of contact to customer at ITO stage, manage project technical tender internally.
• Make technical presentations to all levels of customer organization
• Develop engineering and installation work scopes, schedules and cost estimates to facilitate total scope project offerings
• Contribute positively to regional sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor or above of Mechanical engineering or Petroleum Engineering
• 8 years above experience in Mechanical engineering position for design, service and etc.
• Good team player, ability to work across disciplines, organizations;
• "Can do" attitude, embrace challenge with enthusiasm;
• Solid oral and written communication skills, good written and oral English skills;
• Quick learner, self-driven, could get well familiar with GE drilling products in short time;
• Skilled at engineering tools

Desired Characteristics

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred discipline, mechanical or Petroleum
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Strong drilling product application experience
