Position Purpose

The Product Analyst is responsible for conducting Product studies across AP carlines and markets to support Ford's brand pillars: green, safe and smart. The department takes the advanced planning lead; ensuring vehicle programs reinforce the brand and are truly consumer focused. It develops and applies new approaches, methods and techniques to drive the business forward in terms of efficiency and effectiveness in both the creation and execution of programs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities of Position


Key responsibilities include supporting the following:
· Development of the product planning activity to conduct technical/business feasibility studies and product action proposals
· Obtain and support consolidation / interpretation of consumer and market insight data
· Work with and co-ordinate workstream inputs to/outputs from Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Manufacturing, Consumer Research and other activities.
· Support development of innovative consumer focused approaches to programs including 'insight', 'lead user' and customer satisfaction techniques.
· Explore new business and product opportunities in Asia Pacific to support Ford/Lincoln brand development and profitability.
· Support identification and development of business initiatives, foot print studies, regional better plans and aspirational initiatives.
· Co-lead new product concept development market research with product marketing
· Facilitate Product discussions with Senior Management.
· Specific vehicle program planning activity at an early stage e.g. Next C, B, CD & new product concepts.
· Interface & co-ordination of regional advanced product planning team members as required.
· Assist Program planning/program teams and other activities under GPDS to achieve a successful / Gateway by executing robust High Priority studies (where necessary) and/or pre- Annual Process Reviews.
· Collects, consolidates and vets detailed investment / resource estimates by functional area in order to derive investment targets for cycle plan input
· Leverage new technology into concept development.
· Develop knowledge of and links with non-automotive companies and experts.
· Develop and study market, consumer and product trends and their implications.
· Planning responsibilities during product creation phase of new product development.
· Conduct relevant competitive intelligence gathering and analysis
· Flexibility to work on different cross-functional assignments as the need arises
