Software Group (SWG) have an established practice to help customers adopt IBM software technology. Specific to our SmarterProcess suite of products - IBM Business Process Management (BPM) and IBM Operational Decision Management (ODM) - we are looking for a senior technical in support of this mission. The candidate will participate in SmarterProcess client engagements across all industries and will be required to design, develop, test, document, deploy and potentially support the developed artefacts, and also lead the associated implementation team.

Your Role

Aanalyse a particular business process or requirement and is responsible for the design and coordination of a new solution, application, or component based on these requirements. You will refine the business model using design patterns, performing model transformations and using reusable assets in the design that will be used for the deployment. This model is provided to the development team, who construct the system according to the specifications provided by, and under guidance and direction of, the solution architect. The solution architect acts as the customer's and project manager's key technical contact on the project.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Ensure proper understanding of the customer's functional and non-functional requirements (including DR and HA requirements) and translate these into technical specifications

Determine the appropriate BPM and/or ODM topology and work with the technical team to document the design and system architecture of the solution and the implementation and testing methodology

Communicate and discuss the architecture and approach with the customer's teams

Drive successful project implementation with IBM's and customer's teams

Write and produce technical documentation as well as knowledgebase articles, and keep current with the BPM and BRMS ecosystem technologies

Analyze complex distributed production deployments, and make recommendations to optimize performance

General Qualifications

Able and willing to travel abroad frequently

Strong verbal and written communication skills, skilled in stakeholder management and building relationships, able to demonstrate influencing capability

Excellent design and problem solving skills

Fluent in English

Able to quickly and thoroughly extend technical skills, if and when needed.

Technical Qualifications

Have a deep understanding of business process decomposition and be able to translate customer requirements into technical requirements

Have a solid background in database technologies

Have a thorough understanding of service oriented architecture (SOA) concepts with focus on Web Services using SOAP and RESTful, JEE architecture and Java Connector Architecture

Have a strong understanding of the Java ecosystem and enterprise offerings, including debugging and profiling tools, logging and monitoring tools (log4j, JMX), and security offerings (LDAP/Kerberos/SPNEGO)

Understand rule application infrastructure integrated within decision services, batch processing, EAI...

Have very good knowledge and hands-on experience to develop rule business object, use of JAXB and JAX-WS

Show competency with structure, models, UML, oriented object analysis and design to develop the information model for the rule processing

Have knowledge of application components and services and the ability to implement their efficient collaboration at run time

Understand different data sources and data access issues such as transactions

Have experience in implementing data transformation and develop business objects

Have a deep understanding of the business entity life cycle methodology

Have a thorough understanding of web application constraints (HTTP, servlet, security, object-oriented design)

Be familiar with JMX protocol, MBean, SCA, SDO, JSON

Additional information

At least 4 years experience in in the role of solution architect, capable of shaping project solutions and leading teams in developing BPM and BRMS applications and solutions using the IBM SOA stack

At least 3 years experience in in agile development methodology and leading agile development projects

At least 3 years experience in in following domains - BPM Standard, BPM Advanced, ODM, software engineering process, UML, application integration, JEE, and data to object mapping

At least 3 years experience in setting up multi-node WebSphere clusters and in designing solutions for disaster recover
