The CDL Cognos team in Shanghai will be responsible for innovation of the Cognos Admin Capability in BI (Admin lit/Connection/Admin), along with maintaining existing portfolio, and also will be working closely with other Capability teams distributed around the globe and to be effective we need individuals who are committed to a collaborative approach to software development and open to thinking creatively about the challenges and opportunities of a distributed development team.

The post is for a Software Developer with a solid background in JavaScript/Java/html programming. The candidate should have a demonstrable understanding of software development, design and optimization techniques/principles with a variety of practical experience.

An analytical mind, creative thinking and an ability to support other members of the team are essential attributes in the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

- Develop, implement and test high quality application code to enhance existing features or extend functionality of IBM Cognos.

- Actively find solutions to assigned problems and tasks

- Any other reasonable task as may be requested from time to time

- Troubleshoot problems with tools/application

- Support S&D and Lab-based Service and contribute to sales enablement and customer support.

Requirement:

- XML, XSD, DTD

- HTML, Javascript, CSS and AJAX

- web browser HTML/Javascript behavior (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari)

- XPath or XSLT

- XML DOM

- SOAP/HTTP

- understanding of relational and multidimensional query concepts, e.g. good understanding of SQL and MDX

- Good communication skills in English

- Strong commitment for quality

- Highly adaptable and quick learner.

Qualifications(Education/Major/Certificates)

- Master degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

- More than 3 years of software development experience

- Java, C++

- BI applications
