Brief Overview of Role:
? Act for all matters relating to the day-to-day operation of the office; liaise with the management team, and will ensure the office runs efficiently.
? Ensuring the implementation of the China training plan with the training manager.
? Monitor KPI’s for institutional donors
? Provide HR, secretarial and administrative support to Care for Children China team
? Act as the coordinator for Finance team and training team, and support their work.
? Ensuring that all communications between Country Manager, finance team, training team and all staff are handled quickly and efficiently.
? Assist in the development, and have a thorough understanding of Care for Children’s work in China.
? Motivate the office staff, delegating duties where appropriate and ensuring that staff are fully utilised.
? Act as liaison for all Chinese Fundraising Activities
Specific Responsibilities:
? Managing all HR, Health & Safety and administrative operation in Beijing office.
? Advise Compliance & HR Manager of legislative changes in China
? Supporting training team for all operational needs of training activities.
? Working with the training manager to ensure the implementation of the training plan
? Communicate with our Chinese partner CSWA on all financial, logistical and administrative issues relating to trainings
? Communicate with the UK office on all administrative issues relating to the Beijing office.
? Keeping copies of all forms used relating to operations, human resources and assisting staff to complete them properly.
? Responsibility for establishing contacts with a variety of outside suppliers of goods or services, tracking deliveries, the receipting of goods and invoice processing
? Responsibility for ensuring accurate recording of budgetary expenditure throughout the year.
? Organising meetings and appointments.
? Recording of staff attendance and absences.
? Arranging supply cover for absent staff as appropriate.
? Undertaking any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of an operation manager.

Care for Children ( www.careforchildren.com) exists to relieve hardship, distress and sickness in abandoned and orphaned children in Asia by the introduction of strategic initiatives in local family placement care as an alternative to institutional care.
Care for Children began work on it's first Foster Care pilot project with the Shanghai Civil Affairs in 1998.
Following the initial success in Shanghai, 3 other projects were started in Kunming, Yinchuan and Chengdu. In 2003 Robert Glover received the White Magnolia award from the Shanghai government in recognition for his service to the city. By this date, a total of 1400 children had been placed into families.
Recognising the value of Care for Children's project work, in 2003 the Ministry of Civil Affairs invited Care for Children to partner with CSWA on a nationwide project in the 14 poorest provinces of China. In 2007 the project was further expanded to include 30 provinces. To date (Jan 2011), Care for Children has directly trained staff from over 200 orphanages. It is estimated that there are now over 250,000 children in families.
Care for Children has recently received invitations from the Thailand (2009), Mongolia and North Korea (2010) to replicate our project work in their respective countries. The Thailand project is due to start in January 2012.
