Core Job Responsibilities:
This is a multi functional role dealing with diverse engineering needs, including the ability to gather
requirements, generate specification documents, and interface with alliance partners, contract manufacturers
and internal personnel to design, deploy and sustain custom solutions worldwide. This is a high visibility role
within NI requiring daily interaction with NI customers, NI Alliance Partners, NI Sales Teams, NI Engineering
Teams, and Executive Management. The role will include:
?Interacting with a wide variety of NI customers, NI staff, external alliance partners and suppliers in
support of designing, implementing and sustaining of custom solutions
?Troubleshooting, documenting, validating, deploying, sustaining turnkey automated solutions
?Directing contract personnel, managing projects, guiding technical decisions and driving field found
issues to resolution
?Traveling as needed (possibly up to 50%) domestically and abroad in support of project objectives
?Ability to communicate proficiently in Chinese and English is a must

Experience and Skill Requirements:
?Minimum Degree: B. S. in Mechanical Engineering
?Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience in a Mechanical Engineering
?Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, Root Cause
Analysis
?Strong understanding of limitations for multiple forms of fabrication (machining, extrusion, sheet metal,
injection molding, etc…)
?Experience working within a high volume manufacturing environment
?Demonstrated understanding of the following concepts and principles:
1.Sources of measurement error
2.All phases of the product development process (concept, prototype, production, sustaining,
EOL)
3.Proficient with Pro/Engineer
4.Basic electrical ground and shielding concepts
5.Statistical analysis of data (Cp, Cpk, GR&R)
? Demonstrated ability to:
1.Work effectively in a diverse, multi cultural group development environment
2.Problem-solve effectively - diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions
3.Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently
4.Persistently drive tasks and lead projects to successful completion
5.Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products
