Position/Title: Product Specialist

Report to: Marketing Manager

Education: Bachelors Degree or above in Instruments, Bio-science or chemical background

Minimum Years of Experience: 3 years


Responsibilities & Qualification:

The Product Specialist (PS) will be a member of the China marketing team, and will assume Instruments or Reagents categories management and product performance responsibility for China. It is a junior position previous to product manager.


This position will work closely with the China sales team to set up product categories and provide product support to sales team. He or she will assume the responsibility for product sales achievements and take the lead to determine overall marketing, pricing, and supplier strategy for all product lines with the guidance by marketing leader.


From the marketing perspective, the PS will work closely with marketing and product managers in the region, to develop marketing plans, programs, and execution for certain product categories. The PS will also be involved in the product training, product promotion programs for marketing and sales teams for the country.


The ideal candidate will be a strong product-focused with market knowledge, as well as strong in application skills. The PS will have strong commitment and accountability to the company, to give support with product knowledge to sales team in growth of the business.


  • Responsible for category performance and achievement in China product category
  • Support marketing manager to set up country go-to-market strategy for product category.
  • The primary coordinator for new product launches.
  • Support marketing manager to determine supplier strategy for product lines and drive execution in the country.
  • Manage cost of goods, and negotiate special costs with the suppliers to support region-wide marketing programs.
  • Coordinate with country pricing managers and country marketing managers to set pricing strategy for all product categories.
  • Manage operation level relationships with suppliers for product line.
  • Gather competition data to drive strategic decisions.
  • Support marketing manager to develop marketing plans for product category.
  • Responsible for execution of marketing plan for the categories.
  • Work with sales team to assess training requirements and implement product related sales training programs.
  • Travel regularly throughout the region to train and support sales reps.
  • Assist in customer opportunities and visit customers to gather feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3 years of business experience, with solid product application background
  • Strong communication skills with solid knowledge in product.
  • Strong execution capability
  • Self-motivated, driven, strong commitment and result oriented.
